Grooming Your Dog: The Tools You Will Need

If you are new to having a dog in your home, here are some helpful tips when it comes to grooming. Grooming is a great time to bond with your new best friend!

Regular grooming keeps your dog clean, healthy, and comfortable. You can groom your dog at home or you may choose to take him to a professional groomer.

Grooming tools. Gather all of your tools and supplies ahead of time. Put them in an area where you can easily reach them. You don’t want to have your pooch in the bath tub soaking wet and then realize you don’t have your shampoo.

Short haired dogs:

  •  Curry brush or glove
  •  Ear cleaner
  •  Rubbing alcohol
  •  Cotton ball/cloth
  •  Pet toothbrush
  •  Dog nail clippers
  •  Collar
  •  Dog shampoo
  •  Blow dryer/towel

Medium-Long haired dogs:

  •  Slicker, Pin brush, or Undercoat rake
  •  Ear cleaner
  •  Rubbing alcohol
  •  Cotton ball/cloth
  •  Pet toothbrush
  •  Dog nail clippers
  •  Collar
  •  Dog shampoo
